*ModelSim AE simulation runtime can increase by a factor of 100x for designs containing several levels of instantiated hierarchy. For example, medium to large density RTL designs that have more than 250 hierarchical instantiations, regardless of many lines of code exist in the design, will exhibit this performance limitation.

How do I get the ModelSim Xilinx Edition-III CD?

The ModelSim Xilinx Edition-III (MXE-III) CD is included with all new product shipments of ISE Foundation programmable logic development systems.

Included on the MXE III CD are the ModelSim XE Starter and ModelSim XE-III. A license for the ModelSim XE-Starter is available for free to all registered, in-warranty users. Licenses for the ModelSim XE III product are sold by Xilinx as a development system option.
